The Tuner Man Visits CtK

By Mr. Murphy
2005-01-24

Students in Mr. Murphy’s Grade 11 Transportation class were treated to a visit from Speed Channel’s "Tuner Transformation" creator "Jack Mac." Jack MacDonnell, a car enthusiast and racer started the "Tuner" show about two years ago and it has been picked up for another season.

Jack came to visit CtK to talk to students about the show, the future of the tuner market and to promote racing at race tracks, where it is monitored and relatively safe.

Mr. MacDonnell was kind enough to bring a gift for CtK’s tuners, a set of leather seat covers for "Project Mustang", courtesy of Ryan Bunn at Roush Racing. Jack Roush is well known in the racing community as a multiple car owner in the Nascar Nextel Cup series and leader of Roush Racing based in Michigan.

"Project Mustang" is nearing its mechanical completion. Semester 2 tuners will install the Roll Bar and Roush Racing Seat covers and make some decisions about what bodywork will be done to complete the project.
A new convertible top will be added and the car will have to be Safety checked and pass a Drive Clean test before making its way out into the sunshine. Thanks to all the students who worked on the Mustang this semester, you guys have done a great job!

"Tuner Transformation" can be seen on Speed Channel, and a new season with all new shows will be coming up by Spring time.
