On April 12th, 2006 a group of students from CtK participated in the Halton Skills Competition that is organized annually by the Halton District School Board and the Halton Catholic District School Board. This year, at Robert Bateman High School, secondary students competed in more than 40 technical skill areas including auto service, carpentry, character animation, desktop publishing, TV/video production, home building, hairstyling, and many more.

Competitors were given a challenge on their particular skill and a fixed amount of time to complete the task. Judging was based on completion time, workmanship, correct safety procedures and industry standards.

Our CtK team competed in three events. Kyle Dwyer and Simon Cook competed in character animation using 3-D studio max where they placed second winning a silver medal. Alex Beaulieu represented CtK in the auto service technician competition and placed as a top catholic student.

Congratulations to all the competitors and the award recipients.
