The DECA elections have been held, and your new CtK DECA team has been formed! Peter Sproule will lead the team as President. Kevin Wilson will be his right hand man as Vice-President. Managing finances is John Klintsaris, as Treasurer. Erin Uberig, Director of Activities, will be in charge of the events and competitions that our team will be running and attending, with assistance from Assistant Director of Activities, Tom Herren.Todd Fisher and Zack Vito, Directors of Marketing, will team up to take on the challenge of marketing the various activities. While Nicole Hunkeler, Communications Director, will create buzz about the events and keep CTK informed of DECA’s success!
A couple of things that our executive team already has in the works are the Fashion Show Concert, being held at the Kool Haus in Toronto, in association with French Connection and Z103! We are also assisting Club Green with the Project Porch Light distribution! As well, the CTK DECA team is busy running the School Store, The Jaguar’s Den, and preparing for the upcoming regional conference!!

What is DECA?
Today's businesses require teamwork, consensus building, decision-making, interpersonal skills, and goal orientation. While business organizations value cooperative effort, they also demand independent thinking. DECA seeks to transform students into team workers who recognize that their own success depends on the success of others. At the same time, students learn that effective leadership is critical to successful group work.
By giving students hands-on experiences in the fields of marketing, business and entrepreneurship, DECA enhances the classroom experience by providing conferences and competitions that mold high school students into character-driven leaders. Separate programs and activities are conducted for the high school and the university division called DECA U.
