History
In Greek mythology, Pegasus was a winged
horse that was the offspring of Poseidon and the Gorgon, Medusa. An
unlikely pair to be sure, but their offspring Pegasus would go on to
become one of the most faithful servants of Zeus himself -- the king of
the Gods. Pegasus was also a brief servant of Perseus in the
legendary story of his fight against the Chimera. This story was later
captured in a Hollywood film titled Clash of the Titans. In
honour of his service to Zeus, Pegasus was transformed into a
constellation of stars before his final day and there remains for ever
more to be witnessed by future hero’s around the world, and to inspire
the young to believe that nothing is impossible if you put your heart
into it.
The central value of Pegasus House is
RESPECT. The winged horse Pegasus embodies respect through its sense of
service to others. It is through service to others that one gives
respect to them and then in return can receive respect. We honour and
welcome all new members of PEGASUS HOUSE and hope that you earn the
respect of others by first giving respect, and that by your sense of
honour and loyalty, enhance this schools reputation both inside and
outside the walls of CtK.
