History

Triton House is named after the son of Poseidon, god of the sea, and Amphitrite the goddess of the deep in Greek Mythology.  He is usually represented as a merman, with the upper body of a human and the tail of a great fish.  He carries a mighty trident and uses a conch shell like a loud trumpet to calm or raise the waves of the ocean.  According to Hesiod’s Theogony, Triton dwelt with his parents in a golden palace under the sea.  Triton is often seen in ancient Greek art, in great statues around the world from Greece to Poland to Germany.  Triton has also been featured in popular films such as the Little Mermaid where he was king of the deep sea and father to Ariel.

Triton is most known for his sense of equity, as the sea is an ecological system of equity and balance.  Thus EQUITY is the central value of this House.  We honour and welcome all new members of TRITON HOUSE.  May you all become the very embodiment of equity, fairness and peace here at CtK!
